Montmorency

Concept commissioned by Banyule Council.

Can you spot the wing of the Copper Butterfly or a Notoncus Ant? This contemporary and vibrant concept explores a closer look of the many wonderful things that make Montmorency unique. Inspired by the site, stylised organic shapes reference the local wildlife and native plants including those documented by the Montmorency Biodiversity Group. If you take a moment you may see the flower of an apple berry climber or tiny geranium, a pair of antennas or the water from a winding creek. Playful patterns mimic the flight path of a butterfly, a cocooned caterpillar and the markings found on the face of the sugar glider.
